BIOGRAPHY

Akaki Gugushvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. From 2016 to 2019, he studied at the Tbilisi Zakaria Paliashvili Central Music School “Decade of Talents”. In 2019, he graduated from the Georgian Technical University with a Bachelor’s degree in Law. However, driven by exceptional talent and a deep passion for music, Akaki continued his studies in 2020 at the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire. He enrolled in the Faculty of Performance, specializing in solo academic singing under the guidance of Teimuraz Gugushvili. A scholarship recipient, Akaki graduated in 2024 with the highest honors.

His professional operatic debut took place in 2022 at the Zakaria Paliashvili Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, performing the role of the Majordomo in Paliashvili’s Abesalom and Eteri. Later that year, he returned to the same stage as Marcello in Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème.

On September 23-24 2022, the 171-th season of the Zakaria Paliashvili Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre was traditionally opened with Z. Paliashvili opera “Abesalom and Eteri.” Akaki Gugushvili made his debut with the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre troupe, playing the role of the Majordomo.

The new generation of opera singers, selected on the basis of the competition, presented a new production of Giacomo Puccini’s famous opera “La bohème” at the Opera and Ballet Theater. The life and history of the young artists living in the Latin Quarter of Paris came to life on stage. Akaki Gugushvili played the role of Marcello on December 24, 2022.
